Moving into a new Atlanta apartment is a very exciting time for everyone in your family including your pets. The excitement of a new place can be stressful for cats and dogs alike. Pets are welcome at all of JAMCO Properties, Inc. 21 Atlanta apartment communities. Here are some great tips from the Humane Society of The United States to help you and your dog or cat adjust to the new layout.
First, plan on moving into your apartment on a weekend or when you can be home with your pet for the first few days. Get to know the floor plan and spend some quality time together. Next, maintain your normal routine. Is the office farther away? Will you spend more time away from home because of traffic or other factors? Minimize the changes in your schedule that occur as a result of your new Atlanta apartment.
In the beginning, consider confining your cat to a single room with all their things. And now is a good time to consider a crate for your dog. Because dogs instinctively live in dens, he will think this is his own spacious bedroom! Remember, dogs require an active lifestyle to be healthy. Just a few hours in the crate each day will prevent it from becoming a jail cell.
Finally, be patient. Pet friendly Atlanta apartments make great homes for everyone once they are settled.

Income requirements for renting Atlanta apartments will vary from community to community or from landlord to landlord. Minimum income requirements for leasing an apartment are in place to help renters be successful in their new home– with their ability not only to pay rent but also to buy groceries and to pay utilities. The JAMCO Properties, Inc. requirement, and industry standard, is a gross income of 3x’s the rental price. So, if the monthly rent is $600 for the unit you want, you will need a monthly income of $1800 ($21,600 annually before taxes).
Before you begin an apartment search it is a good idea to be aware of your income and spending habits because apartment community managers will run a credit and/or background check when you apply. Application fees are not a source of income for property managers but rather the application fee covers the costs third parties charge for running credit and background checks for the community. Again, these checks are done to help ensure a renter’s success in their new community.
Administration fees (admin fees) and security deposits are two additional costs a renter can be expected to pay before moving into an Atlanta apartment rental. Admin fees are non-refundable amounts and cover the cost of preparing and administering leases and paperwork done in the leasing office. A security deposit may be collected to make repairs for any unnecessary damages (outside of normal wear on the apartment). If the renter meets the requirements set out in the lease, all or part of a security deposit may be refunded when the tenant moves out of the apartment.
Minimum income requirements, application & admin fees and security deposits are all tools apartment communities use to help renters find the perfect fit. With a little planning, you can find more than a great place to live at one of JAMCO’s 21 metro Atlanta apartment communities. Most of our communities are now serving you with HALF OFF application fees and NO SECURITY DEPOSIT!

If you can’t be with the one you love, love the one you’re with, your roommate. Successfully sharing Atlanta apartments can be difficult even in the most spacious floor plans. Show your roommate some love this Valentine’s Day with these few simple tips.
The cliché, “Absence makes the heart grow fonder,” is true for residents sharing Atlanta apartments too. Disappear from the rental this Valentine’s Day so your roommate can enjoy a quiet uninterrupted evening at home. Go the extra mile and leave a homemade dinner on the kitchen stove and maybe a bottle of wine in the dining room.
Roommate “date-night” can happen any night and you don’t have to Google the directions. Spending time with your roommate in your Atlanta apartment doesn’t mean spending big bucks for Valentine’s Day. Gather in your apartment’s living room with plenty of Chinese takeout and a bunch of funny movies or with lots of tissue, all things chocolate and some sad stories.
Atlanta roommates can go out together for friendly fun this Valentine’s Day. Volunteer to be the wingman and designated driver so your partner in crime and cohabitation can relax this evening. Or you can volunteer together at that non-profit you’re both passionate about. Spread the love.
Emerald Pointe Apartments has clean affordable apartments in Riverdale, Georgia whether you prefer a roommate or not.
February is a great time for Atlanta apartment residents to show themselves some love. This month is American Heart Month and metro apartment dwellers can celebrate with a few simple suggestions from JAMCO Properties, Inc. and Atlanta Apartments for Rent blog. Please remember individuals should always consult their physician before changing their eating and / or exercise habits.
- See your doctor routinely and ask for heart tests. A medical provider can advise patients of which tests are right for each individual. Some tests are performed annually while others are age based or scheduled as needed.
- Choose heart-friendly foods to prepare in your Atlanta apartment’s kitchen. Add a minimum of one to each meal.
- Finally, commit to an exercise program that works for you. Pick a routine that you can accomplish without becoming overwhelmed and quitting. Even a small amount of activity is better than none. Moderate exercise will keep your heart at its target rate without leaving you breathless.
Finding a workout buddy and keeping your loved ones involved is a great way to share the love with others. Working out with neighbors in your apartment community can help you stay committed to a healthy lifestyle. Stonetree Apartments in East Point, Georgia has a world class cardio-friendly fitness center and residents are not far from local markets where they can buy fresh heart-healthy foods.
